It is really hard to market hard work and self deprivation when you have fast food companies encouraging super size, the economy encouraging massive amounts of over time at a desk and then have the NIH state..America is getting fatter..gee, no idea why.

Then you have to combat the education the TV commercials offer to individuals who want to lose weight. Eat at Subways, buy Dexatrim Lets-get-Thin-Mini-Trim-Exercise-in-a-Bottle-Thin. They have to work because we see the before and after pictures. “I sold my soul to Jenny Craig and I still can’t fit in the lousy t-shirt ” plans are such bull shit.

Yet, no one wants to hear THIS deck of cards is a serving size of protein  

  versus this hot dog of death we can purchase at a ball park all summer long.

You may be saying by now

 ”But MOE!!What do you mean I can’t eat that hot dog laden death bomb and take my diet-in-a-bottle pill and look like the nice girl in the diet ad? ”  

Do you know this is the Liquid Hoodia MODEL they use on the ad spaces the buy? How damned convincing is she? Of course there are no BEFORE pictures to show us….I guess her as a chubby 9 mos old before she became a swimsuit model.

How do we combat that with..you actually need to sweat and pick up heavy objects. No you cannot eat the fast food every day of the week, in fact you cannot eat it even every other day. Once in a while is actually ONCE IN A WHILE..not 3x a week…for some it can’t even be 3x a month in order to lose the body fat they have sticking to their ribs. Which, Grandma, I want you to know in this day and age is called visceral fat…all those years telling me to eat that food because “it will stick to my ribs” was really an idle death threat masked in loving advice.

I looked up Chili’s Restaurant the other day because Mr G and I were given gift cards to dine there. So we planned a date night, but I am also on a modest diet right now as well. (Thank you for the holiday cookies, I am full now) So, while looking up the location of a Chili’s I also found a nutritional guideline for that menu. PERFECT! I know how many calories I can have each day so…on to picking my food choices. As I was looking over the charts it is CLEAR why America is fat. Crystal Clear! Please click the menu to see it better.

Chicken the normal healthy choice we pick when we think “Eat Healthier“Or Salads! Yeah get a salad those are a much better choice than say…Sirloin or half a rack of baby back ribs or some other choices you see on the menu. However, one Chicken Mesquite salad with NO tortilla strips is 800 calories! A sirloin serving is about half of that in calories! While 800 calories is not enough to call for the crash cart and IV doses of blood thinner, we also know NO ONE orders just the salad, right? (Please do not email me saying you are the elite few who do order just a salad and how dare I bash a Chicken Mesquite because your cousin is the one who applies the Mesquite to the chickens in the farm yards across America etc…good for you for getting “just the salad” we all know that changes as your relationship progresses)However, I did learn on my own with no advertisement and no subliminal suggestions from the NIH who insists they want America to be healthy that you CAN look up menu’s before you go out to dinner. We CAN make educated choices before they sit us down, offer us breadsticks and something wet from the bar. I mean, I found Chili’s menu after all and was able to make my choices knowing how many calories I could afford for the meal. After all, we don’t just go to the restaurant with a credit card and HOPE we can afford the meal, we already KNOW what we can afford to spend…now we need to know what we can afford to EAT.

So, grass root and propaganda subscribers UNITE and pass the word on to everyone you can because no one else is going to help us with the message. Diet ads are filled with lies and false hopes, the government and their damned RDA is not looking out for us when they also hold hands with the prescription drug companies keeping us at death’s door but unable to ring the doorbell. So, we have to educate ourselves with how many calories we can afford to eat and where the right choices are for us. Look up those menus before you go out to eat, plan those meals vs spend those calories freely….we are in debt to ourselves with that wild calorie spending.

 Fast Food Nutrition is a site filled with menus for typical fast food dives. I would suggest you print some up, high light what is safe and REMEMBER it before you pull up and ask to biggie size your butt.I looked up a few other sites and noted that SOME places decided to NOT disclose what is in their foods…ok, that is repulsive, isn’t it? How much does this cost? I cannot tell you but you will love it! yeah..um..no thanks!
